ContentQuo Launches SaaS to Manage & Reduce Translation Quality Risk with Any TMS

Data-driven linguistic quality management made easy for corporate localization departments and LSPs at any scale, with any TMS

Tallinn, ESTONIA, Apr. 30, 2018 -- ContentQuo, an Estonian technology startup co-founded by two translation industry veterans, today announced its end-to-end localization quality management platform that helps translation organizations of different sizes manage & reduce their language quality risk, improve vendor performance, and optimize translation ROI by using a data-driven approach. For the first time in the industry, in-house localization teams and language service providers can benefit from a flexible, standards-based SaaS solution that enables their global teams to define, measure, analyze, and improve linguistic quality of multilingual content with data -- regardless of Translation Management Systems being used or the scale at which they operate.

Historically, translation industry has been struggling to define what translation quality is, how to measure it objectively, and how to use the resulting data. Over the past 5 years, solid theoretical approaches to quality measurement, like TAUS Dynamic Quality Framework (DQF) and Multidimensional Quality Metrics (MQM), have appeared. Basic features for language quality assessment also became available in several commercial and open-source Computer Aided Translation (CAT) & Translation Management System (TMS) products.

However, many companies still use a TMS that doesn't offer a full quality management feature set, or need to use several TMS, or have no TMS in place at all. Previously, there was no ready-made software solution those companies could use to holistically manage their language quality risk without significant delays, productivity losses, and risk of data corruption associated with makeshift approaches built around loose integration of multiple tools (incl. Microsoft Excel).

According to independent market research firm Common Sense Advisory (CSA Research), "many companies search for ways to ensure the quality of their translation in order to improve customer experience and reduce support costs internationally. The language industry needs to move past older, reactive models, towards tools that focus on actively managing quality. As investment in this area heats up, we predict that new solutions will help drive this much-needed shift."

ContentQuo provides a TMS-neutral technology solution for actively managing translation quality risk that reduces time-to-insights, enforces compliance, and improves scalability by automating the entire quality management lifecycle while exchanging data with customer's Translation Management System (or even several TMS at the same time). Organizations deploying ContentQuo benefit from tightly integrated, easy to use features that help define, measure, analyze, and improve language quality at scale: multiple MQM-DQF quality profiles, random sampling, flexible review/rebuttal/arbitration workflow, browser-based review environment, subsegment error annotation, issue-level real-time collaboration and chat, integration with 3rd party automated QA tools, bulk comparison of file revisions, built-in quality scorecards and visual dashboards, and bilingual file editing with change tracking.

"Back in 2015, we've founded ContentQuo with a vision to help translation buyers and translation vendors collaborate seamlessly across organizational borders on delivering multilingual content of optimal quality to their end readers, users, and players. Early on, we realized there is no 'one size fits all' approach to linguistic quality evaluation. So we came up with a concept of a 'Translation QA Boutique', an end-to-end platform that will also support many different approaches to quality measurement: manual and automated, analytic and holistic, for source content and for target content, for human translations and for MT. Today, we're very happy to unveil ContentQuo's initial release, and we're just getting started!"
